ABOUT

Hi! I'm Alex. I'm originally from New York City, and grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. I've always loved math, and when I got to high school I became really interested in circuits after taking an engineering class. I started college as an Electrical Engineer, took a few computer science classes, and switched to Computer Engineering.

I'm currently an intern in the Solid State Electronics Development department at Boeing, and I'm enjoying spending my days programming and playing around with FPGAs. In the fall, I'll be a Junior at Vanderbilt taking both undergraduate and graduate courses as I pursue a Master's degree through the accelerated 4-year Master's program.

In my free time, I like working on projects, running, teaching children's swim lessons, and fostering dogs through Nashville Humane's Rovernight program.

  • PROJECTS

    The Sibling Alarm,

    March 2020 - May 2020

    • Created a 'sibling alarm' designed to alert a user in one room to motion in the hallway outside using sensors, an actuator, and user input and output interfaces
    • Designed two printed circuit boards for the project using KiCad

Rummy AI Bot, January 2020 - Present

    • Created the game of rummy-500 in Python
    • Aiming to train the player class using a machine learning model

    Battery-Charging Bangle, May 2019 - Present

    • Designed and 3D printed a hollow bracelet using AutoCAD
    • Fashioned hollow bracelet into an inductor using magnet wire and magnetic marbles
    • Surface mount soldered bridge rectifiers onto bracelet's circuit board to allow for dual motion of magnetic marbles throughout bracelet
